INTEGRATIVE SLEEP EDUCATION

Ciência do Sono e Puerpério explicado de maneira fácil e descontraída, para futuros pais e profissionais da infância.

High-quality, up-to-date information reflecting the latest scientific research in the fields of child health, sleep and neuroscience is extremely rare.

During the sessions, caregivers and groups learn how to align expectations of motherhood with the reality of the postpartum period, and promote good infant sleep habits from gestation onwards, through classes/lectures with plenty of hands-on practice and experience.

How does the prenatal sessions work?

Perfect for mothers who like to truly prepare for the arrival of their baby, or as a gift for a new mom, this up to 2-hour class will cover topics such as fetal sleep, how the mother's sleep affects the baby's sleep habits from pregnancy onwards, how to prepare emotionally for the postpartum period, and how to create a sleep-friendly layette.

I will also introduce you to the fundamentals of respectful infant sleep, based on science and connection, and why leaving a baby to cry without comfort is not a worthwhile approach.

By better understanding the science and all the factors that affect sleep, caregivers (parents, grandparents, nannies) will be able to create a suitable rhythm for the day that brings more security to the child after birth, learn to understand their needs, and raise a happy, healthy, and well-developing child.

How does our postpartum education session work?

Perfect for mothers entering this very special period, full of hormones, emotions, fears, and surprises, especially for those who haven't prepared themselves and aligned their expectations about the reality of having a newborn.

Understand the theory of the "Fourth Trimester" and the baby's innate needs at this stage, so that you can meet all the emotional and physical needs of the newest inhabitant of planet Earth, strengthening your secure attachment bond.

An opportunity to ask questions and receive professional support for your insecurities as you rediscover yourself in this new role as a mother, learning how to trust your instincts and tune out the outside noise.

During this period it's impossible to have a perfect routine, but you will learn what to expect from sleep up to 3 months, how infant sleep architecture develops, and how you can help your baby have the best possible relationship with bedtime.

A must for mothers who likes to be well-prepared for the most important phase of her life, and also for the one who doesn't know where to start and needs some guidance.

Don't waste time and start applying techniques from birth to ensure good sleep habits for children without needing sleep training, traumatic interventions, or letting them cry it out.

After the educational session, mothers feel welcomed and empowered to embark on the adventure of motherhood, confident in their knowledge about natural and healthy sleep.

If you...

Recognizes the importance of being well-prepared and calm during one of the most important phases of a woman's life.

Fears the much-talked-about sleep deprivation and wants to start with good habits and realistic expectations from the beginning.

Feels overwhelmed and anxious with so much conflicting information available on the internet and ends up deciding "not to look at anything" before the child is born, and then regrets it.

Want to ensure the best possible development, growth, and health for your child.

Wants to feel secure in your new role as a mother without losing yourself in the process.

Looking to give a gift to a pregnant woman or new mother you love in your life?

Are part of a group of mothers who would benefit from this knowledge?

Work with children (nannies, educators, doctors) and want to understand how sleep can transform children's lives?

...You're in the RIGHT place!

A new perspective that looks into the family as a whole:

Sleep difficulties are just the tip of the iceberg of many problems that lie "below the surface." For quality sleep, the 7 dimensions of Integrative Child Health need to be in balance, and only an integrative and comprehensive approach can help you find the solution.

PHYSICAL HEALTH: Nutrition, physical activity, good sleep, disease prevention

INTELLECTUAL HEALTH: Reading, thinking, skills, exploration, culture

Occupational Health: Interests, organizing routines, activities, individual needs.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: Harmony with the environment, protection against danger, bringing "green home"

EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH: Validating feelings, flexibility and adaptability, compassion, healthy relationships, responsibilities

SPIRITUAL HEALTH: Purpose of life, belief in a higher power, morals, values, and ethics.

SOCIAL HEALTH: Interaction, meaningful relationships, roles within the family

If observed, there may be a need for multidisciplinary care to achieve this balance within the family, with referrals to psychologists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, etc.

How is an Integrative Sleep Educator different from a regular sleep consultant?

As an Integrative Educator, I am a SLEEP FACILITATOR . I observe the whole picture, the need behind a behavior, always respecting the individuality of each child and family, in addition to providing multidisciplinary support with other specialties if necessary. We don't just look at sleep, but at the entire family context, always prioritizing ETHICS and RESPECT .

My mission is to teach families that it's possible to have peaceful, quality sleep without needing sleep training. I focus on educating families about sleep and how to keep this knowledge for life. I don't offer methods, magic formulas, or quick tips for improving sleep. I believe in TRANSFORMATION to end sleep deprivation and a change in the world's view of childhood.

My experience and training as an Parent Coach also makes my services much more comprehensive, since many sleep-related issues are linked to how parents interact and connect with their children. I promote principles of full emotional development so that we can have a better future with strong and secure adults.

Using concepts from Conscious Parenting and Attachment Theory, I invite parents to look at their inner child to understand their own behavior with their children and their relationship with their own parents, using this knowledge to cultivate strong and lasting secure attachment relationships at home. I accept each family as it is, helping to create strong bonds within the family system while also achieving quality sleep, more restful nights, and well-being for everyone.

ABOUT ME

Fernanda Ades
Integrative Sleep Educator and Parent Coach

Motherhood has brought me so much — including the mission of sharing knowledge and supporting other families with up-to-date and reliable scientific information about infant sleep. I help parents build a lighter and healthier relationship with sleep, with acceptance, respect, and connection.

In 2022, I graduated as an Integrative Pediatric Educator at the renowned Family Wellness Institute (now part of the Children Sleep Foundation ), of which I am affiliated and where I also work as a mentor in new classes.

I dedicate myself every day to being a highly skilled professional, able to support mothers and families with care and clarity, even in the most delicate cases.

I have lived in New York for 10 years and work with families from all over the world; the experience of being a mother abroad without a support network has given me a more empathetic and practical perspective to support mothers who are also overseas, as well as helping them understand the cultural differences, myths, and social pressures that cause anxiety for many Brazilian families.
